Change your Windows XP, Vista or 7 password
Your Windows XP,Windows Vista, Windows 7 password is the password you use to log on to your computer. You can help keep your Windows XP,Windows Vista, or Windows 7 computer more secure by changing your Windows XP,Windows Vista, or Windows 7 password regularly and by using a strong password. Steps to Change Your Windows XP,Windows Vista, or Windows 7 Password
- Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete, and then click Change a password.
- Type your old password, type your new password, type your new password again to confirm it, and then press Enter.
Note
- Because you are logged on as an administrator, you can create and change passwords for all user accounts on the computer.
Warning
- If you use an administrator account to change a password for another account, any encrypted files or e‑mail messages for that other account will no longer be accessible to the person who was using that account.
